What are your responsibilities at Tech?

I handle policy and personnel services for faculty, which include reappointments, promotion, tenure, work/life programs, and data and records management.

Why do you like working at Tech?

I really enjoy the friendly atmosphere and the mix of people that work here. On any given day, you can walk around campus and see a blend of cultures from around the globe, working together to make the Institute great. I’ve had such a rewarding experience since I started, I really couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

What is it like working in a college setting?

Because my family is the most important thing to me, I like that Tech has such a family-friendly working environment. It is not often that you can find a workplace that gives you a balance of responsibility and flexibility such as Georgia Tech.

What drives you to help make the Georgia Tech vision, "To define the technological research university of the 21st century," a reality?

As a Tech employee, I feel a strong responsibility to help the Institute succeed in achieving its goals. Each day, I look for different ways to improve our processes and standards. I know I have a vested interest in Tech’s overall success.

What have been the highlights of your career at Georgia Tech?

One of the highlights has been the great supervisors and coworkers that I have had in the past. Another would be all of the Institute-wide process improvements that I have helped to implement. Because of the increase in the speed of business in the last few years, there’s been a big push to go from all-paper, manual processes to automated image scanning, and it’s been a blast being a part of that movement.
